Highlights

Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a breathtaking journey through one of Nepal's most remote and stunning regions, offering trekkers a chance to explore pristine landscapes, encounter diverse cultures, and witness majestic Himalayan vistas. Spanning approximately 177 kilometers around the eighth highest peak in the world, Mount Manaslu (8,163 meters), this trek presents a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and adventurous challenges.

The trek typically begins in the town of Arughat or Soti Khola, located in the Gorkha district of Nepal, and follows a counter-clockwise loop around the Manaslu massif. Trekkers traverse through a variety of landscapes, including lush subtropical forests, terraced fields, glacial valleys, and high mountain passes, before eventually descending back to civilization.

Challenges:
  • Altitude: Trekking to high altitudes poses the risk of altitude sickness, requiring proper acclimatization and gradual ascent to minimize health hazards.
  • Weather: Weather conditions can be unpredictable, with the possibility of snowfall and avalanches, especially during the winter and monsoon seasons.
  • Remote Terrain: The trail traverses through rugged and isolated terrain, with limited facilities and accommodations, necessitating self-sufficiency and careful planning.

Permits:
  • To embark on the Manaslu Circuit Trek, trekkers need to obtain various permits, including the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit, as the trail briefly merges with the Annapurna Circuit route.
